Every Sunday in Cyprus, my family and I visit my grandparents. This summer I decided to document this nostalgic road trip and record the road back to my childhood before it gets ruined. Alongside the footage from this summer, I used our family video archive for my childhood videos.
Patrick Keiller was one of my influences in this video with his unique sideways and melancholic gaze relating to Psychogeography. On the other hand, the way Wim Wenders's Road Movie Trilogy (1974) and Charlotte Prodger's BRIGIT (2016) were filmed on the road was also my inspiration in terms of their style of filming.
